Log home repair/restoration in Wisconsin 

WISCONSIN   Wisconsin is home to thousand of log homes.  Log homes in Northern Wisconsin especially, are faced with issues related to snow load on the roof system, fluctuations of temperature and excessive moisture.   A lot of the older log homes still have mortar chinking.  Although mortar was very common to use back in the day for chink, it is very inefficient.  It typically separates from the logs, allowing water to get in behind and cause severe log rot over time.  We can remove it if needed and apply latex chink to stop heat loss, help cooling in the summer and seal it from water infiltration.       Log homes in the Lake Geneva area are affected by severe cold spells which can cause log homes to shrink, move, and make popping and cracking noises. We are prepared to address these issues as well.
