Can an oil based stain be removed from a cabin to be replaced with a water based one.

Yes, but I would recommend media blasting with corn cob or glass and then Osborne brush the logs before application of new stain.  I also would recommend using LifeLine Ultra 2 for home owner application.  The Ultra 7 can be very tricky if you are not use to applying.  Call Timeless Wood Care products at 800-564-2987 for more help and the products that you will need.
