I actually have a few questions but I’ll start wit

I actually have a few questions but I’ll start with the one I need answered first. I am in central Texas and working on chinking a log cabin. Actually 2. It’s not going so well. The sun keeps blistering the west side. We even cover it for 24 hours and it went 72 hours before it blistered out of the blue basically. That is one question I have about how to fix this and how to prevent this from happening. We are using a PermaChink product. My main question is what material do you use to seal the top log to the metal soffit? What looks best and does it’s purpose? Thank you.

I am thinking that you are using their Energy Seal.  I have been having a lot of issues with this product for the last 3 years and have had very little success getting them to acknowledge that there is a problem.  No matter what you do it either cracks or bubbles.  Their chemist tried to tell me I was installing it wrong, but we have been in this business for 20+ years and never had a problem until 3 years ago when he changed the formula.  I actually have a project that we did in Texas last year and I am going back this winter to cut it all out and replace with Sashco Conceal caulk.  That is my caulk of choice now.  You can order it from 800-564-2987
