I have a half log siding home that's been somewhat neglected. It's about 20 years old and the Log Jam chinking is pealing off in areas and the whole things needs re-staining. My question is do I have to take all the old Log Jam chinking off, then stain, then rechink, or can I leave some of the chinking on and stain? Then rechink the missing parts and over the old? Thank you!
Remove the bad areas of chinking and repair, apply new stain right over all of the chinking and then use Perma Chink Chink Paint to restore chink color.
