QUESTION:  We bought a log home 2 years ago and would like to restrain it a different stain, it has a solid stain on it now, can we use a semi solid stain over it? Or do we need to stick with a solid stain... Thank you

ANSWER:  You will need to stick with the same stain.  If you want to go with a semi -transparent it will need to be striped first to get the true effect of the stain.
