We built a flat log with chinking over 20 yrs ago in western NC. Over the years we have had hurricanes and the heavy winds/rain come through. We are pelted with sideways wind and rain and therefore have had weeping on the inside from the knotholes. Because of this there are drip stains from those knotholes and am wondering what cleaner you would suggest that would not lighten the wood in that specific area. Because of the weeping we have been forced to put a sealer on outside of logs that has stop the problem but now have the drips inside to figure out.
Sanding is about the only way to get rid of them if they are not too deep into the wood fiber. You will probably have to do the whole wall so you can blend it all in.
