We have a log home. We have been hearing a crunching noise in the wood. What insect could this be and what can be done. Thanks so much, Cindy

Could be one of many bugs, but more than likely it is Powder Post Beetle.  The only way to get rid of them is to have the home stripped and treated with a borate solution then re-stained.
