Question: Hello Log Doctor, I am thinking about purchasing a log cabin. Problem: When the pictures and various wall hangings were removed from the interior walls, you could see how much the walls had yellowed(?) the polyurethene (?) or sometype of clear coat protectant around the pictures due to the sun. 1. What is needed to correct this problem (sand and refinish each wall?), and 2. What is the aprrox cost for a 3,000 sq ft cabin. Thank you, log Doctor!
Answer: There really is no good cure. You will have to sand the entire wall to try and make it go away, but if it is very old or there has been a lot of light coming into the room you may not be able to sand it out. If you leave the areas exposed to light they will start to blend over time.
