Question:  I don't have a lot of money to pay for blasting and also no experience, would it be ok to palm sand my pine log home and add the same stain as used?

Answer:  Yes, but do not use anything finer than 80 grit.  If you get it too smooth the stain will not adhere to the wood fiber properly.
