QUESTION: We are in the process of rebuilding an 1899 log cabin. Do we need to seal the logs when we are finished? What would we use as a sealer?

ANSWER:  If it is an old square log style, we normally do not stain them and just apply a good coat of glycol based borate treatment.  I would recommend using Shell Guard Concentrate from Perma Chink.  Call 800-564-2987 to order and more advice.
