QUESTION: Hello! Have a cedar log home in Alaska, we're due for re-staining the sidings of the home. It was stained roughly 3years ago. We hired a guy to work on it last year and did not finish the job, what he did was just pressure wash the sidings of the house. He had a stroke and unable to finish the job this summer. I wish to know the best stain that we can use given the harsh weather we are in?

ANSWER: Unless you completely remove the old stain (hopefully not with a power washer) you will need to use the same brand that is on it now.  If you do strip it then I would recommend LifeLine Ultra 2 or Ultra 7 from Perma Chink.
