We have lived in our log home for 20 years. Its 2

QUESTION: We have lived in our log home for 20 years. Its 2” wide chinking has cracked over time and I have trimmed and prepped it for filling, repair and a final skim coat of new chink. I’m thinking it would be an incredible amount of work to spread long, thin beads of chink to cover a 2” width. What is the quickest or best way to cover a 2” width? Thanks.

ANSWER: That is about the only way to do it with several lines then trowel out.  If you wanted to spend the money for a caulk gun that could spread a 2" wide layer at one time may make it go a little faster.
