Sun Damage- Have a brand new porch with beautiful cypress poles. Painter did a clear seal on them but one is in the sun and getting sun bleached after only 6 months. Can I paint that bleached side with a colored stain of some sort, and then how to seal them to prevent sun damage in the future? I want to keep them looking natural.

You cannot use just a clear coat.  As you have learned it will break down in 6 to 12 months.  You should always use a pigmented stain that is made for exterior use.  I like to use LifeLine Ultra 2  from Perma Chink, but it is real touchy on what it goes on so you will have to probably sand the poles first before application to make sure you have a good chemical bond with the wood fiber.
