Question:  We just purchased a log home that was stained using Sikkens ProLuxe Rubbol Solid Wood Stain. The color they chose is very light natural color. We would like to change this to a much darker color. Can we just apply the darker version of the same stain, or does the old stain need removed. I was told the original stain is 3 to 5 years old.

Answer:  Yes, if you use the same product you can just apply a darker color over it.
