Question: We just finished drywall in our log home. All the outside walls are logs. Our challenge is when the interior 2x4 walls, now drywalled meet the exterior log walls. Our drywallers tried to scribe as best they could the drywall to the log wall but there are still gaps. We asked them if they could mud and fill in the gaps but they said it would be best not done with drywalling mud. What type of filler material would you recommend to fill in the drywall up to the log wall? thank you!
Answer: The proper way is to cut a grove into the logs and tuck the drywall into it. If your going to use a filler you should use Perma Chink.
