Our log home is 30 years old and we constantly fight weather and bees which damage the cross corners. We want to cut them off and install a wood "cap" of wood over the ends. Has this been done? Is there anything special we need to do? Thank you.
You can do it, but it may take from the value of it if you ever decide to sell. Maybe try cutting back so they are just under the overhang and not catching water.
