QUESTION:  We purchased a cypress wood home which needs cleaning. Have not found anyone the knows how to clean mold . I need help with that and what stain to use on the weathered sides that have faded to make it it all match. Thanks for suggestions. Mickey

ANSWER:  You will never get everything to match if it has been a long time since it has had any maintenance.  Also, if you do not know the brand of stain that is on it, you shouldn't just put another stain over an unknown brand and hope that they are compatible.

 I would recommend stripping the entire home and applying a good quality latex stain made for log homes like LifeLine from Perma Chink.  Any log home stain will require maintenance every 3 or 4 years.
